MR safety matters
The subject of MRI safety continues to grow apace, with technical advances of the equipment and a proliferation of passive and active implants appearing on the market. Eden Learning’s MR Safety First course has grown to meet the needs of healthcare professionals working in MRI. This comprehensive course spans two days covering all aspects of MR safety: biological effects arising from the newest technology, dealing with passive and active implants, implications from recent gadolinium contrast agents research, the requirements of national and international standards, and conducting MR risk assessments. Interactive sessions will explore roles and responsibilities in MR safety, MR suite design, and how to develop an MR safety framework. New topics such as controlling B1+rms and dealing with “legacy” pacemakers will also be addressed.
Delivered by many recognised experts in the field, including MRI from Picture to Proton co-author Dr Donald McRobbie, the course is aimed at radiographers, radiologists, physicists and researchers with an interest in MR safety.
Venue: Classroom/online.
